Gli ex funzionari d'inquadramento superiore del Comitato economico e sociale europeo non possono, in linea di principio, svolgere attività di lobbying o di consulenza presso i loro ex colleghi nei 12 mesi successivi alla cessazione dal servizio. Il CESE segue le attività esterne svolte dai suoi ex alti funzionari e pubblica ogni anno una relazione su tale monitoraggio.
