Gdy urzędnicy wyższego szczebla kończą pracę dla Europejskiego Komitetu Ekonomiczno-Społecznego, zwykle mogą angażować się w działalność lobbingową lub reprezentacyjną w stosunku do swoich byłych kolegów przez okres 12 miesięcy. EKES monitoruje działania zewnętrzne swoich byłych urzędników wyższego szczebla i co roku publikuje z tego sprawozdanie.
