EESC President

Youth Advisory Council

Join the EESC President's Youth Advisory Council: Call for Interest

Are you passionate about youth engagement and policymaking in Europe? Do you want to have a direct impact on shaping civil society’s voice in the EU?

The President of the European Economic and Social Committee is launching a Youth Advisory Council (YAC) to hear directly from young leaders on key discussions. This initiative aligns with the President's commitment to fostering youth voices in governance.

The Youth Advisory Council will support the EESC President by providing recommendations on political priorities and strategic decisions, ensuring that young people's perspectives are integrated into the decision-making process at the highest level of the EESC.

By doing so, the YAC aims at:

  • Amplifying the voice of youth in EU governance;
  • Ensuring that young people' opinions and aspirations are reflected in the President's political orientations;
  • Contributing to broader efforts towards inclusive policymaking at EU level.

The YAC will consist of 6-10 members, representing youth organisations from across the EU. To be eligible, the members should be:

  • Aged between 18 and 30 years
  • Be an EU national residing in one of the 27 EU Member States
  • Be fluent in English
  • Affiliated with non-governmental, not-for-profit organisations that align with European fundamental principles and are led by young people.

Diversity is a key priority, with a focus on ensuring representation from different interests and achieving gender balance.

Selection process

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates from youth-led organisations who are committed to making a meaningful impact. Candidates should be nominated by their respective youth organisations and will need to submit the following:

  • CV
  • A motivation letter (max. 1500 characters)
  • A short essay (max. 3000 words) on key issues they believe should be addressed during the YAC term.

The selection will be made by the EESC President from the pool of candidates applying to the call of interest.

Please be aware that this role is an honorary position, and as such does not foresee compensation or expense coverage.

Please note that the application process is now closed.
