Fundamental rights and the rule of law – Report on the country visit to Moldova and authorities’ observations on the report
On 17 April 2024, three EESC members took part in the country visit to Moldova. The delegation met with several representatives of civil society, more specifically civil society organisations (CSOs), the social partners, the media and the legal professions. The aim of this report is to faithfully reflect and reproduce the views of civil society.
The above-mentioned meetings were framed under the following themes:
- Fundamental rights of social partners
- Freedom of association and freedom of assembly, and the right to non-discrimination
- Freedom of expression and media freedom
- The rule of law
The input received during the meetings has been included in a report drafted by the delegation members. This report has been communicated to the Moldovan authorities, which in turn submitted their reply.
