Social progress beyond 2024

Digital innovations, investment and competitiveness are often used as content fillers, but are far from being so. They have a real impact in how our economies and societies work, and cannot be abandoned by Workers and Trade Unions, leaving us in a reactive position. They must be seized and shaped, ensuring that the digital transition is a gateway to a fairer society, where technological innovations are put to use for the benefit of all, and not for the profit of a few. Investment is a powerful tool for development, but must happen in line with sustainability, not against it. And competitiveness can only benefit from a properly levelled playing field, where more innovative and creative companies take the lead, rather than companies that merely seek to obtain extra benefits from social dumping and environmental destruction.
