The next Multiannual Financial Framework. Where is the EU heading?

The European Commission on 16 July 2025 presented its proposals for the next Multiannual Budget of the European Union, for the period after 2027. The proposals that want to considerably overhaul the structure of the budget, set new priorities, and introduce new genuine sources of own revenue for the EU have been met with fierce criticism by certain groups.

In the event we will take a close look at the proposals and provide the views of policymakers, think tanks and organised civil society.

In this context, the EESC organises a public debate in the ECO Section with the title: "The next Multiannual Financial Framework. Where is the EU heading?".

The event is organised on Friday 5.9.2025 starting at 10:00 a.m. and will be webstreamed (original, EN, FR). No registration is needed and participation is free of charge.
