    Darbu pie zilā kursa EESK sāka 2023. gada janvārī, un 2023. gada februārī notika oficiālais atklāšanas pasākums “Laiks ES zilajam kursam”. 2023. gada septembrī iniciatīva ieguva politisku impulsu ar EESK un Eiropas Parlamenta kopīgu aicinājumu, kas tika pausts kopīgi parakstītā vēstulē ES valstu un valdību vadītājiem, aicinot dalībvalstis atbalstīt un pieņemt vērienīgu ES zilo kursu.
