It is my pleasure to invite you to the 571st Plenary Session of the European Economic and Social Committee.
On Wednesday 13 July at 3 p.m., Vasco Alves Cordeiro, the newly elected President of the European Committee of the Regions, will present the priorities of his 2,5-year mandate at the helm of the EU body.
Also on Wednesday, at 4.15 p.m., our members will debate on the issue of Ensuring gender equality and tackling gender-based violence, with Christina Fabre, Team leader on gender-based violence, European Institute for Gender Equality.
After France, the Czech Republic has taken over the lead of the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the second half of the year. Therefore, on Wednesday 13 July at 5.30 p.m., we will discuss the priorities of this country with Jan Lipavský, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
On Thursday 14 July at 9 a.m., we will hold a discussion on a Resolution on the EESC's contribution to the 2023 European Commission's work programme.
The second debate on Thursday, at 11 a.m., will cover the topic of New EU-US Trade and Technology Council in action: priorities for business, workers and consumers and necessary safeguards, with the participation of Fredrik Erixon, economist and writer.
