Ex-post Evaluation of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund for the 2014-2020 programming period

Summary

The Asylum, Integration and Migration Fund (AMIF) programme is for boosting national capacities in asylum, integration and migration; improving procedures for managing migration, and strengthening solidarity and the sharing of responsibility between Member States. The fund’s scope includes emergency assistance to meet urgent and specific needs, resettlement and humanitarian admission, additional support to Member States contributing to solidarity and responsibility efforts, as well as actions by local and regional authorities.

The ex post evaluation of the AMIF for 2014-2020 will examine the effects of the fund in achieving its specific objectives, as well as its impact on the development of the area of freedom, security and justice in terms of its contribution to the list of objectives.[1] Therefore, it will focus on the impact of the fund.

 

[1] (i) the development of a common culture of border security, law enforcement cooperation and crisis management; (ii) the effective management of migration flows into the Union; (iii) the development of the Common European Asylum System; (iv) the fair and equal treatment of third-country nationals; (v) solidarity and cooperation between Member States in addressing migration and internal security issues; and (vi) a common approach by the Union on migration and security towards third countries.
