9th Cohesion report

Public debate on 9th Cohesion report: Lessons learned from the first years of the implementation of the programming period 2021-2027, in the framework of the ECO section meeting.

At a time of important climate, technological, demographic and geopolitical developments, the EU cohesion policy needs to evolve to meet the ambitious objective of making Europe's regions more resilient, competitive and inclusive, embracing the green and digital transition and improving opportunities for all European citizens. In the context of the recent publication of the 9th Cohesion Report, the EESC would like to explore what are the lessons learned from the first years of the implementation of the programming period 2021-2027 and how cohesion policy faced all these challenges. Moreover, the EESC would like to examine how civil society contributed to the objectives of cohesion policy.
