Theme: This workshop with young people focused on the role of the EU in their life, on the policy areas of particular interest to them and on their expectations for the upcoming legislative term.

Key message:

Participants pointed out that the EU Legislative Priorities for 2023 and 2024 (2022/C 491/01) should have a stronger focus on migration policy, LDBTIQ equality and social policy and better tackle socio-economic inequalities.

In the upcoming term, they would like the EU to focus on following challenges:

  • Political and economic balance (between and within Member States)
  • Support of democracy and human rights
  • Peace and Security
  • Climate Change, environmental protection, animal protection
  • Strengthening of social policy
  • Migration
