  • On 15 November the EESC will host a pivotal event focusing on the benefits of organic food and the critical role of public procurement in advancing sustainable practices. This event will bring together representatives from cities, national governments, and institutions to discuss the future of organic farming and its impact on farmers, workers, the climate, and the environment.

    This conference in Athens is the third event on disinformation being hosted by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) as part of its ongoing project aiming to fight disinformation with the help of civil society.

    Enhancing the role of civil society in implementing the Pact on Migration and Asylum

    The European Migration Forum – the dialogue platform on migration, asylum and migrant integration - will meet for the nineth time on 28-29 November 2024.

  • New mandate, new challenge - reaffirming TSD amid economic security ambitions

    The third edition of the EESC Civil Society Forum on Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) will take place on Thursday, 5 December, from 14:00 to 17:30 at the EESC premises in Brussels. Under the theme "New mandate, new challenge: reaffirming TSD amid economic security ambitions," this year's Forum will focus on ensuring that the EU's economic security agenda is consistent with and delivers for TSD. As we welcome a new EU Commission, this is the moment to influence policy direction and ensure that trade policy fosters resilience and security alongside long-term development and social justice for all partners. 

  • Water challenges: Exploring consumer perspective - Moving ahead on EU Blue Deal

    The INT Section will organise the European Consumer Day on 9 December 2024. The title of this year’s edition is ‘Water challenges: Exploring consumer perspective - Moving ahead on EU Blue Deal’. The objective is to explore water-related issues from the consumers’ perspective, namely: water-efficient consumption and water pollution prevention, focusing on consumer awareness-raising and education (information campaigns), as well as consumer protection in terms of ensuring access to water at an affordable price, including the aspects of water quality and quantity.
