The seventh meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group will be held on 11 November 2024. During the meeting, the EU DAG will receive an update from the European Commission's DG TRADE on the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, as well as information on the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement. The EU DAG members will also exchange of views on EU-Singapore relations and recent developments in Singapore with Ambassador Lim, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Singapore to the European Union. An important feature of the meeting will be the presentation on the labour rights situation in Singapore given by the ILO representative. One of the objectives of the meeting will be to prepare the European side for the upcoming joint meeting with the Singapore DAG.
As in the previous years, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will actively take part in the annual United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP29, which this year will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.

Green and low-carbon hydrogen are crucial components in our energy transition. Recent initiatives, such as the EU Hydrogen Bank, highlight the momentum in developing sustainable hydrogen markets.
In the context of the European Gender Equality Week, the European Economic and Social Committee is organising a thematic debate during the meeting of its Section for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment (NAT) on 13 November 2024 (14:30 - 16:00 CET), focusing on the disproportionate impact of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss on women and girls, and the critical role they play in advocating for solutions.
Whilst several actions have been taken at EU level in favour of gender equality, inequalities still prevail, with Roma women facing additional challenges as a result of poverty and social exclusion. The hearing will discuss measures that could help empower Roma women and how their participation in employment, which is still very low, can be reinforced. It will address the question of early marriages, the extent to which this is still predominant amongst the Roma community and measures how this phenomenon can be curbed.
On 15 November the EESC will host a pivotal event focusing on the benefits of organic food and the critical role of public procurement in advancing sustainable practices. This event will bring together representatives from cities, national governments, and institutions to discuss the future of organic farming and its impact on farmers, workers, the climate, and the environment.
