The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) generally recruits staff through open competitions or selections. These are organised at inter-institutional level, by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO).  EPSO can be contacted at the following number : +32-2-299.31.31 or via its website http://europa.eu/epso.
Vacancies which are published internally by the EESC or at inter-institutional level are intended for permanent officials who are already working at the EESC or in the other institutions and for the successful candidates from an open competition.
Sometimes the EESC employs non permanent staff, under the contract or temporary agent scheme.
This is particularly the case when a staff member is absent due to long-term illness or leave on personal grounds or maternity leave, when a department has to carry out a specific task in addition to its usual work or when a post is waiting to be filled. In any event, such contracts are for a limited period.
Applicants for such non permanent contracts must be from one of the EU's 27 Member States. They must have a thorough knowledge of one of the EU's official languages and a satisfactory knowledge of at least one other of these languages.  They are selected from the "eRL-CAST" database managed by EPSO, containing CVs of applicants who have passed an EPSO organised selection.  Applications from persons who have not participated to any particular selection are not totally excluded, although the probability of seeing their application considered for a non permanent contract is reduced.

Before you start filling in your form, please make sure that you have all the information you need; you will be asked to attach a curriculum vitae in one of the EESC's three working languages (English, French and German).
On the registration form, there is an asterisk (*) after certain fields. These fields are mandatory. Until you have completed them, it will be impossible for you to send your application. The other fields are optional, and are intended to help us build up a more detailed profile of you.

Function Group AD

Description: Administrator / Linguist Administrator
Minimum educational requirements: University

Function Group AST

Description: Assistant / Administrative staff
Minimum educational requirements : Upper secondary + 3 years of professional experience.
